  Bakelite’s base material is phenolic resin, which was discovered by a Belgian scientist Baekeland in an accidental experimental accident. Since the raw materials for the production of this material are mainly formaldehyde and phenol, it is called phenolic resin. Soon afterwards, Baekeland established a company to develop and produce phenolic resin products.

The earliest use of Bakelite was used in electrical circuit parts and it was invented at the time when the electrical revolution was in the ascendant.
